Building on its immense success last year, with over 10 thousand visitors, this initiative is back with a fresh edition. It offers a distinctive way to experience Sicily, allowing you to see the island through the windows of vintage trains. But it’s not just about the train ride; it’s an immersive experience where you can savor flavors in danger of extinction and explore historic gems like villages, castles, archaeological sites, parks, oases, and nature reserves. This project is a collaboration between the Ferrovie dello Stato Foundation and Slow Food Sicily, made possible through the support and promotion of the Department of Tourism, Sport, and Entertainment of the Sicilian Region.

The “Historical Trains of Taste” program in Sicily runs from August to December, offering 51 opportunities to traverse some of the most breathtaking railway routes on the island. The adventure commenced on August 12th and will continue until December 10th, 2023.
One unique feature of this year’s edition is the inclusion of a specially equipped luggage compartment designed to transport up to 50 bicycles per route. This addition encourages travelers to explore the fascinating spots along the way, promoting train and bike mobility.
