Ottobrata Zafferanese 2025 – Grape Festival

Grape Festival Sicily

Where: Zafferana Etnea, Sicily

When: October 5, 2025

The first of the Ottobrata Zafferanese in Zafferana Etnea, Sicily. A month of Sunday festivals dedicated to local food kicks off with a grape festival where you can sample freshly harvested grapes and local wine.

Experience the rich flavors and vibrant traditions of Sicily at the Grape Festival, marking the opening of the Ottobrata Zafferanese 2025. Held in the charming town of Zafferana Etnea on Mount Etna’s slopes, this event celebrates the grape harvest with tastings of fresh grapes, must, and local wines.

Zafferana Etnea lies within the Etna DOC wine region, famed for its volcanic soil that gives rise to elegant and complex wines. Local tastings often feature Nerello Mascalese and Nerello Cappuccio, local red grapes used in Etna Rosso wines, known for their earthy minerality and refined structure. For popular Etna Whites, Carricante is a crisp, citrusy grape often blended with Catarratto for added body.
