FAQ
Is Sicily suitable for family travel?
If you want a culturally enriching, scenic, and overall fun trip, then yes Sicily is a fantastic destination for family travel.
Older kids will be fascinated by tours to ancient Greek ruins and the whole family will rejoice at cooking classes, relaxing on the beach, and snorkeling in the (safe!) crystal clear waters.
There are ample options for family-friendly accommodations and resorts and Sicilians will treat your kids like royalty.
Oh and did we mention the granita, brioche, and copious gelato your kids will be talking about for years to come!
What is the best way to get around Sicily with the family?
If traveling around Sicily with the family, bear in mind that public transport is limited and the coastal roads can be challenging if you are unfamiliar.
Some kids may enjoy long train rides which can be a fun way to see some of the countryside but options are limited to major cities only. If taking excursions to monuments like Mount Etna, Valley of Temples, or Scala dei Turchi, you may want to take the hassle out of it with a private driver. Our English-speaking drivers collect guests from their hotels and accompany them to point B, often doubling up as guides as well, giving you an insight into their city and helpful tips along the way.
